All About My Pumpkin

Thank you BorisPasha, cypher, CMB, Thin Lizzy and dreamtree1234. I really enjoyed making some Halloween decorations for pumpkin cage. I have shared a tutorial on how to make the small and large DIY Cardboard Pumpkin on the 31 days of October thread for today and the other tutorial for the other hanging pumpkin decoration I will share tomorrow alongside photos of Pumpkin posing with them both. Pumpkin has been really cheeky lately so I have been seeing her cheeky grin a lot – I’m so happy I managed to capture that sweet expression.
Pumpkin is getting really good at camouflaging and she says you all have amazing eye sight because it was really really hard photos to find her in!
… dreamtree1234, I also like that it looks like she peeking out from behind her chews and then the 2nd one I can imagine her saying “Boo!”.

Boo!

Pumpkin has been getting into the Halloween sprit lately and she keeps making me jump! I rarely see Pumpkin during the day but this last week I have been fortunate to see Pumpkin out and about more than usual during the day.
The other day I was getting ready in the morning and when I turned around towards Pumpkin’s cage she made me jump as she was sitting on the roof of her house staring at me – which was a big surprise as I wasn’t expecting to see her awake and also as her expression looked like she saying “BOO!” – so her DIY Boo sign has been a perfect addition to her cage. After making me jump Pumpkin wanted a cuddle so I had to be a quick one as I was in a bit of a rush that morning. After her quick cuddle she went in her house and started banging her roof of her house – which also made me jump to as she was just out running around her cage and I didn’t realise that she had returned to her house. If she making me jump already and it not even Halloween - I wonder what Halloween will be like!

As well as making me jump during the day the last couple of nights Pumpkin has woken me up really early this morning banging her chews against the edge of the cage as well as banging her roof of her house – talk about a racket! And then Early Saturday morning she woke me up when she wedged a willow stick against her wooden wheel which made an awful grinding noise against it as she tried to run in it! Exactly the same as what she did last week, so I had to sort it out when I was still half asleep and she also wanted a cuddle to! I think she been making a lot of noise during the night recently so she can get a cuddle – she is very cheeky and know how to get what she wants!

Lol, I think that Pumpkin is doing an excellent job getting into the Halloween spirit. I suppose she is making all those extra clanging and grinding noises so you can feel like the place is haunted. She is such a hilarious ham for also surprising you by her unexpected appearances just to say "Boo!" and get her cuddles (of course). I just love hearing about all the exciting and fun adventures the two of you have together. I wonder what she will be up to come Halloween, too! I'm sure your creative, little one will find some extra special way to add to all that spooktacular Halloween experience. Eros has been acting extra spooky and making me jump lately, too. Maybe Pumpkin and Eros are acting in cahoots to keep both of us on our toes, ,keep us laughing, and begging for extra cuddles and playtime, too. They are quite the kindred spirits.

I love that you are sharing how you made your DIY projects. You are so very talented and creative, SKB. Thanks you.

Today I’m going to share a few photos I took of Pumpkin earlier this week – Tuesday evening Pumpkin got some mealworms after her cuddle time, on the way to treat dish Pumpkin ran through her grass tunnel were a tiny piece of Fitch got caught on the fur by her ear - reminded me of an earring. When Pumpkin found the mealworms in her treat dish, she ate all of the mealworms instead of pouching like she does with most treats. That’s why mealworms make the perfect bribe for photoshoots, so I did manage to get a photo of her enjoying the mealworms…

After eating her mealworms Pumpkin, I tried to get some more photos of Pumpkin but she didn’t make it that easy as she was running around her cage as well as begging for more cuddles, luckily she sat still long enough for a few more photos …

Yesterday, Pumpkin wasn’t too happy with me as I had to wake her up in the afternoon as I had asked my dad if he could help with some DIY – as I wanted the shelf brackets on the shelves above Pumpkins cage to be replaced as well as extending one of the shelves, and I knew Pumpkin wouldn’t appreciate us drilling holes in the wall above her cage along with I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her in the cage whilst the top was covered over to prevent any brick dust going into her cage. So she was a little grumpy with me but she spent the afternoon in her playbin and had a good sleep in her grass nest – she got really comfortable that once we had finished she didn’t want to leave her nest and when she stuck her head out with her eyes still firmly shut I left her in their for a little longer until she woke up. But I’m now happy with how they look – and two of the three shelves are an extension to my hamster storage and currently have Pumpkin’s houses and hideaways on.

Several gorgeous photos of your lovely Pumpkin as always. Aww, I just love that Pumpkin loves her mealworms best just like Eros! It is so wonderful that they are easily bribed with them to take photo shoots, too. Pumpkin looks marvelous no matter what side she is showing off. She is such a beauty and adorable princess ham, and I love all of her equally.

I'm glad that your dad was able to help you with your storage shelves. There is never enough space for all of our hamster stuff as it tends to grow quickly over time.
