Re: All About My Pumpkin
That salt pig was a terrific buy SKB. How clever to colour co ordinate it with the gorgeous Pumpkin!
Pumpkin's guide to her grass nest is a very detailed explanation to other hammies on how to make the best of this in their homes!

Another brilliant guide Pumpkin! Lovely demo on how to make such good use of a grass nest
I really love the photos of Pumpkin grooming & napping, so cute!

Re: All About My Pumpkin
The pictures of Pumpkin napping are adorable! Quigley usually sleeps inside his house, so I don't often see him sleeping except for when it's hot and he decides to sleep outside. I'm jealous that you manage to get in blurry grooming photos of Pumpkin. All my hams have always groomed too fast!
I really like the salt pig. I've seen a lot of members with salt pigs and I wondered... What are they actually made for? To store salt? Whatever their intended purpose, they are perfectly hamster shaped.

Re: All About My Pumpkin
I can't take anymore of Pumpkin's beautiness, I keep thinking each time you post pics that they're the best I've seen her and then you go and include your latest pics and I'm bowled over with your little girl's expressive gorgeousness, I felt giddy with joy. I just want to give her a big kiss. I'm so in love with your little princess. Love! Love! Love!

Re: All About My Pumpkin
The salt pig was a great find for that price I nearly bought a salt pig in a shop until I realised it cost £15, then changed my mind lol.
Absolutely love her guide to her grass nest, looks like it is very versatile and has so many great uses. I have the small version but nobody has it yet. I find it hard to choose who should get something when I only buy one of something. I shall be sure to pass on Pumpkin's funny and excellent guide to whoever gets it though
She looks stunning in the pics, but then she always does

Re: All About My Pumpkin
Thank You Coco61, cypher, AprilPearl, Thin Lizzy and BorisPasha. Pumpkin is also happy that you enjoyed her guide - this grass nest is a big favourite of hers, she spends quite a lot of time in it especially in the evenings.
- Coco61 and Cypher, The salt pig was a good bargain, especially for the size that it is. I noticed it had a maker mark on the back so I looked it up, to discover this salt pot would be be £11 new - so I was very pleased that I only paid £2. It just perfect for Pumpkin too!
- BorisPasha, I had a similar experience I was looking into getting a salt pig before. Then saw the price and to me seemed really overpriced. Charity shops are a good place to look - mine had a couple smaller ones too! That must be difficult decision to make to decide who get the grass nest - Pumpkin hopes whoever gets it will enjoy as much as she does!
- AprilPearl, I also get quite a lot of blurred grooming photos too but occasionally I get lucky to get some clear/focused photos too! The salt pigs are intended to be used is to store salt and to helps prevent the salt from absorbing moisture. Although Pumpkin says they make good hamster hideaways too!
- Thin Lizzy, Thank you for your really sweet reply and Pumpkin was happy with the compliments to! Pumpkin is a little princess ...
... My Sleeping Beauty
Pumpkin is very pleased that the weather has cooled down today - she didn't like this recent hot weather to found it much more comfortable sleeping in her grass nest than her house and didn't use her wheels much in the evening either. So I couldn't resist taking a quick photo of her fast asleep in her grass nest - as she looked so sweet!
Apologies in advance for even more cute sleeping photos of Pumpkin!
The photo on the left is how Pumpkin was sleeping when I was about to spot clean her sand bath on Monday - she looked so peaceful that I didn't want to disturb her so cleaned her sand bath out later instead.
Pumpkin! What Are You Doing?
Pumpkin has been being a little naughty/mischievous lately - Pumpkin has kindly informed me in hamster language this means good/well behaved!
Pumpkin woke me up early on Monday making a lot of noise - I couldn't work out what she was doing until I noticed she was climbing up some cardboard behind her wooden wheel (the cardboard is there as she doesn't have her willow sticks there which she would normally chew on so she did start trying to chew on the cage a little). She even tried balancing on a flimsy bit of cardboard. When she realised that I had seen what she was up to - so she decided it would be best to do some digging instead!
Although late Monday afternoon, when I was busy having a tidy up of some things in my bedroom I could hear the same noise again. Upon calling my Pumpkin and asking her what she was doing? - She came out from behind her wheel - rested a paw on her play wave and looked at me, if to say "what!?" - it was so cute!. Then she tried distracting me before sneaking back behind her wheel - so I grabbed my camera to capture her expression as she emerged from behind the wheel! (this from time the other side of her wheel). Then she decided to do a little bit of foraging instead!

Re: All About My Pumpkin
I'm so jealous that you get to watch her sleep! Quigley stays tucked away firmly in his house until he deigns to emerge Pumpkin looks very innocent! I can't believe her capable of mischief!
