All About My Pumpkin

That last pic is so blooming adorable, she's got such a cheeky face and gets her pose perfect. I got Harvey that Christmas Tree Treat and he refused to eat it, he would walk on it and sit on it but wouldn't take a bite.

Thank you cypher, Hamsterita, BorisPasha and Thin Lizzy. Pumpkin is very sweet when she begs for cuddles - I'm normally used to hamsters begging for treats. Tonight, Pumpkin has been a little nervous as she couldn't come out in the evening as I had family around - and she gets very sensitive when she hear unfamiliar voices (she only trust a few people and get worked up when she hear anyone else) so she was a little wary later. She also wasn't best pleased that she missed her cuddle time - she made a mess chewing her grass nest - but I did get her out for cuddles later but she was very alert listening out to the slightest noise so she didn't stay out for long. Although she has now settle back down having fun in her cage.

The seeds I've planted for Pumpkin have germinated - the shoots are tiny at the moment so Pumpkin will have to wait a little longer before she get to enjoy them.

It so nice these last few night Pumpkin has been very energetic at night, begging for cuddles and have been going to bed listening to the sound of the pitter patter of her feet in her wheel - I love that sound.

Harvey know what he likes and doesn't. Pumpkin was so excited when she smelt the Christmas tree she didn't have any interest in her other present when she discovered it - and had a good nibble on it.

Shame Pumpkin had to miss out on her cuddles but I'm sure she'll soon forgive one night of visitors & be begging for cuddles again.
Good to hear her sprouts are doing well, they do grow quite slowly at this time of year but I'm sure Pumpkin will think it worth the wait when they're ready

Aww bless her, over time she'll get use to your family's voices and smells. I did laugh at her making a mess. Such an expressive girl. I too love the pitter patter of feet on the wheel, I find it very relaxing.

They can be very sensitive little creatures can't they and she seems to like her routine and dislike any change to it :P She's a young lady who knows what she wants I also love hearing them running on their wheels, always puts a smile on my face

I would like you to show us the seeds once they grow. I also sew some lentils, and they also germinated, but I forgot to water them the other day and I sew them without substrate or sand, so I don't know if they are going to make it

Thank you, cypher, Thin Lizzy, BorisPasha and Hamsterita. Pumpkin can be quiet sensitive to unfamiliar people and sounds - She only fully trust me and my mum - she wary of everyone else - so she left alone with my bedroom door shut. Pumpkin has now resumed to her usual self - begging for cuddles and is confidently enjoying herself - tonight I watched Pumpkin sprinting in her Bucket wheel which was very lovely to watch.

Thursday evening, when I was watching TV, I heard some really load banging. I didn't know where it was coming from so went to check on Pumpkin - as she has a habit of a lot of noise. That when I discovered a big mound of Fitch next to her sand bath - I started to panic thinking she was stuck beneath her sand bath - I removed her sand bath and her adorable face was staring at me with the cutest expression. Pumpkin wasn't beneath her sand bath but was behind it as she had accidentally dropped a yummy treat behind and she had to go on a rescue missing to retrieve it. The treat was slightly stuck behind the willow stick leg of her knuff shelf so she was trying to move that out the way - this caused the knuff shelf to bang against her cage. I managed to help her retrieve her treat and she got her cuddle time a little earlier - to keep her out of anymore mischief. Pumpkin made up for her lost cuddles from Wednesday - we can never have too many cuddles! Although Pumpkin now has a habit of wanting to try to dig beneath were I'm sitting on the sofa - the other week she accidentally nipped me when trying to pull at my clothes. I love her special unique personality - she also becoming a lot more vocal recently - so she been starting to voice her opinion more.

They are about 1cm in height now but I'm sure she will enjoy the wait. It was a long time ago since I last gave my hamster sprouted sunflower seed, so I'm very interested in seeing Pumpkin's reaction to the sprouts.

I will definitely try to get some photo of the sprouted seeds and also hopefully some of Pumpkin's reaction.

Aww that's so adorable Pumpkin's determination to get her yummy treat.
Cuddles are the best.
Sometimes when I've got the TV on and there's arguing/fighting, I always tell Harvey it's okay, it's just the telly.

Pumpkin is such a character, it seems that you are seeing more and more of the real her now she is gaining in confidence For being such small things they can make plenty of noise when they want to lol.
