Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
Marty sounds like she's so excited by all the new things, she's definitely having a blast

Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
She is soooo lovely! Full of energy and no time to sit still unless she runs dry and needs a recharge
I had trouble viewing the pictures so I went to your Flickr and saw all the blurry pics of her too. I really like keen she is on exploring (:

Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
Thanks everyone!
Penguin I think I'm going to end up with a whole load more blurry photos ha ha!
Well, Marty has decided to have an easier day of it today, she was running on her wheel early morning again but decided it was time for a rest by 8:30.
I made myself scrambled egg for breakfast so that she could have a bit, and just as I was putting it in her dish, my sister came in the back door with a handful of fresh food she had just picked for Lady Jane, the house bunny, so I nabbed a bit of parsley for garnish!
The egg went down well, and she ate the parsley later too.
She has been getting up and having a mooch round, grooming, having a drink and then adding bits of toilet paper to her bed - she is STILL sleeping on her little plastic box!
I got a few more photos, not very sharp because it was quite dull this morning and I don't want to use the flash.
Eating the parsley!
Just wondering if there is anything else coming along to fill the bowl up?
Checking out the hamster mix bowl...
I wasn't going to fill it up till tonight, but, well...
Back to bed!
I piled a bit more toilet paper round her and she dragged it onto her box and arranged it how she wanted it - I think she needs a bit more practise at nest-building but she is getting there!

Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
She is absolutely adorable and one very lucky hammy. Sounds like she is a spoiled little girl with that huge cage and plentiful food
That first picture with the parsley is priceless such a cute hamster.

She is so sweet, I really liked these photo and it looks like she enjoys her food. The expressions on her face are so adorable.

Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
Aww! Love those pictures of her. She really is a stunner. Pity she hasn't taken to the house you put in but it may grow on her later, meantime she seems perfectly happy and comfortable

Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
One thing I did for Sweep which really helped him sleep in the house was put substrate on top of it (so it was "underground") and a bendy bridge over the entrance to make it darker. You could try that!?

Re: Marty McVitie's Thread
She maybe likes sleeping in the box because the bendy bridge goes over it? And because it's near the food bowls
If you moved the food bowls over to the house roof maybe, and moved the sand bath box from under the bendy bridge, she might move house - but maybe let her settle in a bit first.
