Re: All About My Sherbet
Thank you, I can't wait to put it in her cage, can't wait to see the big nest she makes inside of it.

Re: All About My Sherbet
Thank You Thin Lizzy, she currently has it in her playpen for her to get to it and to get her scent on it, when I next do a partial cage clean I will swap her cardboard box she sleeping in at the moment for her new house keeping her nest the same.
Sherbet has been eating some of her dry food, she always seem to put one piece of her shredded tissue in her bowl every day even when she had her wet food. Last night I saw Sherbet drinking from water from her bowl. Also last night Sherbet let me know her wheel wasn't working properly, as it sounded like it wasn't spinning properly and when I checked on her she kept going round the back of her wheel, that when I realised that one of the bolts on the back of her bucket wheel had tightened a little to tight therefore stopping the wheel ball bearings from spinning properly, so once I loosened it slightly Sherbet had jumped back in her wheel and was happily running in her wheel . She even kept getting out of her wheel, peering through the cage bars at me getting excited. She didn't come out for her playtime last night as she was happy to run in her wheel. It makes me wonder how long it hasn't been working properly, although it still spun but not as easily.
I gave Sherbet a little piece of finely chopped homegrown green bean today, she absolutely loved it and ate a little before she quickly pouching the rest. It must have been good!
As I was typing this Sherbet decided she wanted to type something herself on my tablet, not sure what she means "hapapZurtbnuyc" (it might be in hamster language) she loves touching the screen, closing my apps down and she really good at zooming in and out. Sherbet also had a little tip "show your humans what's wrong with your wheel if it is not working properly, as they can help fix it for you so you can then run faster"

Re: All About My Sherbet
Sherbet woke up earlier tonight at 11pm, and I could hear her digging. I went to check what she was doing as I couldn't work out where she was digging as it sounded strange. It turns out she was digging in her toilet kicking everything out of her toilet (her toilet has back 2 nature pellets and aspen in at the moment). I've noticed before Sherbet used to dig in her toilet occasionally. I spot cleaned her toilet the other day and I haven't cleaned anything else in her cage since my last cage clean over a week ago, she didn't seem stressed but it looked like she was having a good time, probably thought she would do some housework and would start by freshening her toilet up. But a little while later she was waiting for her playtime, so I got her out but she smelt of her pee, I don't think she realise that's not what eau de toilette means. But she had a good playtime nevertheless and she did have a good wash which did freshen her up again. Sherbet is always up to something, I wonder what is next ...?

Re: All About My Sherbet
Isn't it great when they let you know somethings wrong with her wheel by going round to the back of it and showing you, I let out a big Awww reading it.
She sure likes to keep herself amused in her cage.

She did look like she was having a lot of fun, she didn't approve of me disturbing her though to see what she was doing.

Sherbet normally let me know when something is wrong and occasionally shows me what is wrong. She does do some really cute things as I initially thought she has kicked too much substrate beneath her wheel and it was rubbing on that, turns out I was wrong and Sherbet was right, again.
Sherbet sure does like to keep herself amused with all the silly things she does at night but most of the time she rather be out of her cage, that why she has her playtime at night instead of during the day, as it calm her down a little, so she is a little more careful.

Re: All About My Sherbet
Quick Update
Sherbet is back to a complete dry food diet so she not having any wet food (as she kept pouching it), although her food needs to be crushed so she can eat it. She has been doing really well and has started to drink from her bottle again, seen her have little drinks throughout the day, like normal. It's a lot quieter when she drinks now didn't notice she was drinking this morning until I saw her, she always used to chew the bars around her bottle spout before drinking - but she can't do this anymore. She has her piece of fresh food every day, some homegrown (carrot, green beans, cauliflower) and a few shop bought like cucumber which she loves, although it does need to be finely chopped. She back to her crazy self around food, she is so greedy, although she did turn her nose up at some linseeds earlier, but she ate some once I put them in her bowl. She still remaining the same weight of 150g.
After Monday night antics, the next morning Sherbet had decided to put all her toilet substrate back in her toilet, but Tuesday night she decided to kick it all out again and fill her water bowl up with substrate - she must having been doing a substrate absorbency test - so I have removed her bowl as she back to drinking from her bottle and also as she started to fill it up with substrate. She still very hyper running around her play area, in her cage and wheel, she still keeps getting up to mischief. I'm glad my little troublemaker, is back to her normal self, she definitely likes to keep me on my toes.
