As you know a while back Master Harvey & I agreed to lie-ins each weekend but, MH decided last weekend to change the rules.
I'd gotten up just before 5am on the Saturday to get a glass of water and thought I could tiptoe in and out but, the living room door creaked and I stubbed my big toe. So I said hello to my boy and we had some cuddles and I put him back but, he gave me that pleading look and then bowed his head, and you can guess the rest, he got his way as usual lol! He held on to my dressing gown and we sat on the sofa and I told him he was a little rascal but my beautiful rascal who I love so so so much and he looked up at me as if to say 'I know mom'. He them went back in his cage and he did some running on his wheel, looking stretches and a couple of hand stands and the a long game of Peek-A-Boo which had me giggling. He then got a special breakfast of toasted granary pumpkin and sunflower seeds bread with melted cheese and a sprinkle of linseeds on top. We both had it, so very tasty. This took over 2 hours and I then got a blanket and had a sleep on the sofa. So when the alarm went off about 8.30, Master Harvey was up at his cage door looking for his breakfast
It so made me laugh, what a chancer.
As for Sunday, I was up from 4am and we did the same, breakfast was cereal, seeds and baby corn. Roast Turkey later on with asparagus, broccoli & carrots.
On Monday evening I was cleaning his loo corner and MH strolled out looked at me then peed in his just cleaned corner, he stopped and looked at me on his way back to his house as if to say 'I did a pee pee mom'. He so makes me smile when he does that.
Tuesday, I came home to the carpet coated on carefresh and his house buried.

Aw he sounds like he almost talks to you I wish Newtie would come out a bit more at the moment! He seems to be keeping cosy on his own although I do see him at feeding time

lol! I can just imagine Harvey's pleasure at find you up early on the weekend, no way was he going to let mum escape back to bed! He's such a sweet & funny little man, I had to laugh at him peeing just as you cleaned, that was probably his way of saying thank you!

Harvey must have been very pleased to find you awake early on the weekend - sounds like you both had a wonderful morning together and got to share breakfast together. I had to laugh at Harvey waiting for another breakfast when you alarm went off. I do find it funny when hamsters feel the need to pee in their corner/sand bath just after we have just cleaned it. Also sounds like Harvey had a very busy day Tuesday burying his house and kicking his carefresh out of his cage.

Lizzie, MH has you wrapped around his tiny paw but you absolutely love it! What a wonderful hamster mum you are. Those early play times together sound so precious indeed. So special to have such interaction with Master Harvey. The delicious food menu continues too even at that hour!
I am completely hopeless in the wee small hours as my human children discovered. I even managed to turn my first born into such a night owl that he works in the theatre world now! Early mornings didn't exist in my book.

I think 2 breakfasts would be necessary when the first one was at 5 ish and the second at 8.30am

Pasha always pee's in his toilet just after it's been cleaned too lol. I can almost see him laughing at me behind his eyes as he sits there

Master Harvey sounds so funny and charming! So sweet how he loves spending time with mom early in the morning. Awww.

I think the sleep-in weekends are officially over for the two of you now, Thin Lizzy. After all that fun, cuddles, and breakfasts together, I know you will just need to keep on getting up for another glass of water come next weekend, lol. How could you not, lol? I am speaking from experience as I do the exact same thing, too. Master Harvey is a humorous character and such a sweetie pie. I think he is trying to be part hobbit with his special request for just a few more breakfasts needed, please. What fun playing peek-a-boo - love it!!! Hahaha, you make me crack up laughing with MH peeing in the toilet corner after you just gave it a good cleaning and then him proudly telling you all about his latest pee-pee. Hammies have such perfect timing, don't they? I just loving hearing about all of MH's latest adventures.

The Joys of Master Harvey!

Well the weekend sleep ins are over for now, I'm making the most of the early rises as I know once it gets more colder, he won't want to get up early. Last weekend he got me up just before 6am and today the same.
I so know he has me wrapped around his paws and I love it, I love those little paws on my hand and face. As for trying to get 2 breakfasts, he now gets 2 mini ones.
During the week, I gave him 3 new treat bars, I hang them separately around his cage and I watched him go from one to the other stuffing his pouches then back to the one he started on. So funny to watch.
On a few occasions when it's his daily veggies time, he's standing like a meerkat waiting and then both paws hold onto his dish as I put it in, he's such a joy. Also he's been waiting for me to get in and he waits in his smaller tube and then peeks out at me and I ask how my gorgeous boy is and he comes right up to my face and I get whisker kisses.
I even cheekily asked for more and he obliged and that got him extra pumpkin seeds and yoghurt drops.
MH has been running in his wheel a lot more and he'll stop, run up to the door and check that I'm there and then run back to the wheel and run faster. Its those little things that make my day. I do love the early mornings with him before heading out, as it puts me in a good mood. Then I come home and he's waiting.
He knows that Friday's I get in later as I go shopping.
