I got my playpen from pets at home in 2007 when I had my Russian Dwarf Hamsters so they no longer sell the one I've have I found this one that is the same size as mine although Syrians can climb out but if you buy a sheet of mesh or make a lid from cardboard you can place it on top and secure it in place to prevent any escapes.

I know it's funny she uses one pouch more than the other, didn't notice it with my past hamsters but she always seems to do it!

Thanks cypher, she is such as lovely hamster and she has so much fun when she out of her cage having her playtime, she gets grumpy if she doesn't come out!

I think the play pens should be made taller as hamsters seem a lot bigger these days compared to when I was a child.

Thanks CMB. She used to be able to climb out when she was a baby but she can't anymore as she can't work out how to now (she is not a bright spark and she is fairly old) and if I sit near she won't as she looking for a cuddle instead of escaping. But I do have a lid which I made to place on top which I used for my past Syrians to prevent escapes, but Sherbet normally get free roam playtime instead, and I normally then use the playpen as a divider in my room.

Thank you, she is so adorable as soon as I saw her face in the pet shop I knew she was mine, in that photo she was wanting to have a cuddle so I had to put the camera down to give her some cuddle time.

I thought I post a few more of the good photos from Sherbet's Playtime:
In the first one she is pouching half a walnut and in the 4th she got a piece of carrot before going to back to her cage.
In the 2nd photo I think Sherbet wanted to show you her pattern of spots going down her back to her tail.

Re: Sherbet's Playtime Photos
Oh she's adorable! J=Does she climb over the playpen? I had one once for a previous hammy and she climbed out within seconds LOL. Not getting Sweep one for the same reason!

Re: Sherbet's Playtime Photos
Thank you pinkneon. She used to be able to climb out when she was a baby, but as she is 1 year and 10/11 months old she is not as agile as she used to be, but I normally don't use the playpen as she has free roam playtime in which I use it to divide my room in half. But I have made a DIY lid for the playpen which I used for my past Syrians to prevent any escapes.
I normally only use it when I'm trying to get photos of her otherwise she is climbing over me wanting cuddles so it's a little difficult to get good photos of her as she trying to climb into my hand and climbing over my phone/or camera.

Re: Sherbet's Playtime Photos
I initially bought the playpen when I had Honey and Caramel my Russian Dwarf Hamsters, so it was ideal but when I got Cotton I was suprised how easily she climbed out, so I made a lid. I know I would like a taller playpen for Syrians, as sometimes I need one especially when you need to cage clean or adjust their cages (as I can't do anything when Sherbet is in her cage as she will be sitting on my hand when I'm doing what I need to do!.... I think she think she is helping!)

Thanks, she loves her food so it wasn't around for long before she pouched it!

She's so beautiful and I did laugh at her poses.

Thanks Thin Lizzy. I laughed also when I saw some of her poses as they really show off her personality. Also I can't normally get many good photos of her as she normally climbs into my hands and then sits on my phone or camera instead.
