Default Meet Kashi my radiant chocolate beauty

I met and fell in love with a little chocolate coloured hamster at our local pet shop just after Christmas. Becausr i had male syrians i felt it would be unfair to get a girl.

I felt sooo sad for her and prayed for her often. She was one of three girls in a tank together. I pointed out to the lady working there thst she was being picked on by the other two. She said it was normal at that age.

A few months later i saw that she was still there. She had her own tank with only food and water as entertainment. Not quite enough bedding to hide in ...

I saw on the shops facebook page that she had been there since February 2015.

Since then i learned from good old hamster central that it is ok to keep different genders in the same room (securely in their cages ofcourse) so today a friend and i went and collected her.

The alaska cage is on its way and for now she is in Aruns old play box with a mesh lid.

She bit and tore at her pet shop box and has been constantly on the go since she got here at around 11.30am. She dug her substrate, foraged for her scattered fppd and climbed up her bigger box looking for ways out.

She sniffs through the mesh when i lean over and is totally unafraid.

She is like a teeny mole!
