How to sex a hamster

Does anyone know how to sex a hamster? My hetty is meant to be female but I've just seen two flesh coloured lumps very close together just before her tail - are these testicles perhaps?

i got her christmas day - so approx 4-5 months? and s/he's a long haired syrian

and oh no

don't know how to refer to my little ball of fluff now - keeping calling her a her but sounds like she's a him

anyone else had this dilemna/problem?

Think you should start contemplating a new name for your baby boy

By that age, it's easy to sex Syrians vs other species who need a closer look

It's the males that generally have the long skirts with Syrians!

gone through all my pics and haven't got a clear full body/rear end shot :/ which is unusual! lol will have to take some tomorrow as currently at work till 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

and oh no, took me ages to decide on Henrietta/Hetty and have no idea what to call him.

Hamlet is a great name. Boys are very hard to miss in syrians! As Cinnamon Bear says its usually the boys that have the long skirts.
