Aw Belle sounds EXACTLY like Suzi she matched all of those characteristics and she genuinely feels part of me right now, it does sound like yous had a real connection

I suppose it doesn't matter what kind of personality they have as we end up loving them all anyway.

I wonder how Sweep will turn out.. hmmm i'm thinking mischievous! But he will always know who his mammy is

Is the little guy up and about now or is he all worked out lol.

Poppy is still in bed the little bugger i can't wait to see her again

I know that feeling! It always seems big until you set it up and then it could be twice the size! I would love a detolf.

I think the Trixie wheel sounds much better. You don't want any accidents with the other one (ie getting trapped under the yellow bit if he flew off the wheel or something). Anyway glad it's sorted.

If you put the Trixie wheel on the base of the cage, there should still be enough room for a few centimetres of substrate and then you could either slope the substrate up away from it so it's deeper elsewhere, or fence the wheel area off with a bendy bridge or something, so you can have the substrate lower on the wheel side and higher on the other side. Just a thought

I would leave the Trixie wheel in now - he might be a bit miffed that it's changed but he'll soon forget it. Better than him liking it and then swapping it again.

He'll start getting stressed if it changes twice.

I genuinely never thought in a million years i'd be addicted to this page in my spare time!

I can't believe how much i love ham chat! Haha

Can these trixie wheels be bought in stores or online only?

I have the medium sized see through green one from p@h with a stand but it can be attached to a cage. It's a good size but i feel like Poppy is missing out on something better

It's easier to find most wheels online - I think the Trixie one is available on line. Have a look at this wheel thread - it gives a few options suitable for Syrians and where you can get them online. Wodent wheels you can only get online. I think pets at home do a wood wheel that's a bit like the Karlie Wonderland wheel.

What cage do you have? Sometimes the type of cage helps choose the wheel. For example in a lower cage, a 27cm wodent wheel would be good because you can hang them upside down and they spin better and don't move about.

You can get them from Amazon, Zooplus, errrrr and I'm sure there are other online places. I've never seen them in any shop though ...

He was running in the wheel! (Oh, by the way Serendipity, he actually likes the Trixie wheel!). Where he is now though I have no idea! Probably sulking because I had ice-cream!

I've got a 2 story ferplast cage and a plastic bin which is quite deep at the moment, but i'm moving her into a bigger plastic tank for digging purposes when she recovers from her bad tummy. I don't weather i would like the wheel in her cage or in the tank though. Maybe best leaving it closer to where her nest is i dunno. she'll have to water sources anyway so i could put it next to either. It's attached to the ferplast cage at the minute.

I seen the wooden one in p@h but i don't see it as an upgrade from the one she's got. It's quite limited in p@h to be honest, i can't believe they sell the tiny ones where the hammy has to arch it's back. To think Suzi had the small one for 6 months before i realized it wasn't right, scares me.

What type to you use serendipity?

Princess Poppy is up and about!

I really want to get her out but I don't know if I should!

THIS IS SWEEP! I AM NOT SULKING! Well, ok, maybe a little. ACTUALLY A LOT!! The pink human lady was eating something and it smelled so nice and she said said I wasn't allowed any! Well FINE! I won't be sharing my food with her! Especially not the peanuts!!
Anyway, she is silly. I eat the way all normal hamsters do - with my paws. She uses her paws to hold something to eat! She should just use her paws. It would be quicker!

Her poo is really starting to thicken and darken now, and she's still bright and 2 nights in a row she's came out on her own accord. Grooming stem stretching yawning eating and drinking. Surely she's on the mend now!
