Re: Elmo's wheel upgrade!!! Excited
U know me, I vote for the 12 in Silent Runner for a Syrian, you can attach it to bars or have it free standing, you can't go wrong. The Wodent Wheel comes in second place but really only my robo like the Wodent Wheel. The Silent Runner is more open! Being in the States I don't know about the Trixie wheel? Hope you find a good upright wheel soon, all my dwarves seem to prefer the stand up wheels over the flying saucer. You have to clean them once a week approximately but it's not bad at all after a couple times!

Re: Elmo's wheel upgrade!!! Excited
Lol! Actually that's one thing that concerns me about the saucers as a main wheel (although I know you are getting a wheel as well). Ours also used to run up to the top and slide down (I think he thought it might be a way out if he got to the top!) and when they do that they don't run straight and kind of bend round. When they run in it well, they stay down the bottom end of the saucer and run in a straight line.
Charlie also loved his saucer when he was waiting for a wheel replacement, but now he has a wheel, he's not that interested in the saucer - it's out of the cage now though, in his playpen so maybe that makes a difference. If you can get one of the Silent runners they're good!
The new shelf looks interesting! It does look like maybe it could fall over though if he climbed it? I don't suppose it would hurt much if it fell on him while climbing but might give him a fright. Just wondering if you could stand it on the base with the substrate piled up round it a bit so it's more stable (or fix it to the bars somehow?)
