Say hello to Nora
After losing my old Syrian Bert to old age , I decided that I would give a new ham a home for christmas.
I got her from the pets at home adoption section, sadly as she had not been picked by anyone and started to get older she had to be separated due to fighting, can't see why anyone wouldn't have wanted her as she captured my heart as soon as I saw her and all the staff said that she is the dearest little thing. I decided to call her Nora as on the ride home she managed to gnaw her way through the two boxes that they put her in, couldn't believe it when I saw her little paw sticking out, luckily I had bought my plastic carry case just in case so was able to swap her before she made her grand escape .
She has only been with me for a day but already seems settled in, she went straight to the food dish, and she is absolutely in love with her wheel and hasn't gotten out of it.
I had intentions of getting a boy but after I saw her face that was it, this is my first girl and I can already tell she is more feisty than any of the boys , If anyone has any advice for girl Syrians it would be much appreciated
sorry for the rubbish quality photos can't get any in good light at the moment

Re: Say hello to Nora
I can see why you fell for her! Is she pure white ? Can't tell if she has light patches or it's just the shadow
I love her green polka dot mushrooms, would you mind me asking where you found them?
I have a female syrian currently but can't give you much advice on them as she's my first hamster and I haven't had for long at all, she does often do a 'meerkat' pose like your Nora in the last pic!

Haha yeah she meerkats a lot don't know if thats because she is still wary, but it makes for great photos, she is mostly white but seams to have a cream splotch on her head .
A lot of people ask me about the mushrooms, I bought them on ebay and got 8 of them for £8 I loved them as they go great with my green and white polka dot bowl .
Good luck with your first ham

Re: Say hello to Nora
I have found that my girl hamster (I usually have boys), who was cream with a white band, was much fiestier than any of the boys and just wanted to RACE about the place. She ended up in a two story five by two foot rabbit hutch!
My childhood girl hamster was very friendly and would come when she was called (thank goodness, she escaped under the bath one day and I sat for ages calling her. Soooo relieved when she appeared. Rewarded her with sunflower seeds).
Just remembered that my son had three girl hamsters (one after the other) over a few years and they were all friendly and VERY lively.

Yeah I know I think she is gonna be a cheeky little Madame . According to the staff she is between 3-6 months she is a bit older than usual as nobody had picked her when she was younger.
