Brilliant. I rather like that feeling when they mouth your fingers. (Had it from a rat I used to have years back).

Well done for not whisking your fingers away as the pressure increased!

I wish Charlie would come out during the day too! I agree, Sid doesn't realise he's a hamster yet. He probably thinks he's a reindeer with all those jingling bells in his cage, and Christmas music and so on - so make the most of it when he realises Christmas is over and he isn't a reindeer after all.

It sounds like he was testing your fingers to see if they were edible like the veggies on your hand - or maybe they smelled of veggies. I remember someone on here advising to wash your hands before offering treats, with soap that doesn't have honey or floral scents or you smell tasty!

I'm sure Sid thinks he is a reindeer or similar he seems to like his mid day adventuring. Which usually starts with loo trip, drink, munch followed by clamber all over the shop and make as much noise as he can before a good stretch and yawn at which point I know the fun is over and he heads back to his Sputnik. I popped his ball into his cage this evening he was straight in it.. Where has this timid teeth showing little fella gone, it now seems that I have an attention seeking little dude..

I am starting to think the whole cheesy it was fate thing with Sid. The breeder has still not replied and had I have stuck to my guns and not ventured into that part of the store I would not have found my little squeaker.

Sid is no longer hand shy I can stroke his back in and out of the cage, he is quite happy to venture up my arm and all over me in the tub and will even sit for a few seconds in my hands. No nips yet
Tonight he even expected me to stand there holding his bit of broccoli while he nibbled it, tiniest possible bites of course. He seems such a character. He is still not 100% on the husband (but who could blame him) although he will take a treat from him and pouch it.

His zooplus order arrived today so his abode is looking less sparse but no doubt he will ignore the majority of it and continue to play all night with the noisy toy dangle chew toy he has Why do they put bells on a nocturnal pets toys haha

Sid is such a handsome hammy. his face looks so adorable looking out of the sputnick. He's doing so nicely. He'll get used to your husband too; especially if he gets treats from him .
Another Holiday Hammy!

Awwww Sid how I love the sound of your putter patter feet as you run in your wheel, it's rather soothing in comparison to those bells of yours...

Sid is Adorable and obviously likes your company. Cuddles my nieces hamster also comes to the bars at odd hours of the day and actually sleeps for the second half of the night as well as the middle of the day. Like your Sid she likes human company. Sid is Beautiful I love all the pics of him but especially the one where he is about to dine on his pea presented on the leaf plate...Ha I also leave noisy toys in with Cuddles at night and love the jingling and also the noise of her not so silent silent spinner 😀 Your Sid is soooo cute ❤
