Meet Bear

These pictures are of Bear my 8 week old Syrian Hamster who I got just over 50 hours ago and right from the start she was clambering at the bars and happily taking food from you. she is called Bear as she look like a bear and although I currently have 3 Russian dwarfs she is my first Syrian in years. however up until an hour ago if you tried to feed her with a flat hand, although she would happily approach your hand, she would nibble you (she probably though it was food). but I just managed to stroke her and hand feed her with noting but a light nibble and a lot of licking. she also has the most adorable habit of stashing her food in her outside tubing.
so, what do you guys think; isn't she adorable? I just wanted to post this because I am sooo happy about her excepting me and I will try to hold her this weekend, if she approaches me.

re: Meet Bear
Lovely girl you have there. May want to hold back a bit more on holding her and continue the stroking and allow her to move forward in her own schedule. So many have been very disappointed when they moved forward faster then the Hamster was ready and now they are back to the start with taming.

Congratulations on your syrian ham Bear, sounds like she's settling in well.

re: Meet Bear
Try putting cardboard through the bars where she chews, use toilet roll/kitchen roll tubes, also is her cage big enough? Does she have stuff she can chew on?
Whimzees (Antos dog chews) are great for keeping the hams teeth trim and provide amusement too.

she has plenty of things to chew on and her cage is designed for a Syrian. i will try putting toilet role through and getting the dog chews but I believe she just wants attention as she only does it when I am near.
Thanks for the help.

re: Meet Bear
The cage hat I have is like a Savic hamster heaven except it has hole sin the bars for tubes and has less of a upper floor. I can not find the exact version as it is quiet Old and second hand but it is Savic and made for a Syrian hamster. for chew toys I have a woodland wooden rectangles, one of those wooden bendy houses and a rope and wood ladder.
I hope this is right
