Friendly little Tori's Thread

[Wanna Hamster]

Tori (short for Victoria) was born on the 15th of February, 2015. I adopted her from the Tri- County Humane Society, when she was 5 months, 19 days old. She is a female short haired Syrian hamster. I have had her for about three weeks. I swear, she is the friendliest little hamster in the world!
Her Adoption Story:
We had just gotten back from vacation and it was time to set up my hamster cage. I set it up, then went looking around on the internet for young adoptable Syrians. The humane society nearest to us had nothing. But, a humane society an hour and a half away had 2 female short haired Syrians named Victoria and Ava. Just looking at their profiles, I liked Victoria better. So, I showed my mom and she agreed to drive me there the next day. We were going to call in to reserve her, but they where closed, so we decided to call before we left the next day. When we did call, they said they could reserve her for me. So, we left to go get her. Once we got there, Ava had already been adopted. So I took a look at Victoria. She was amazingly healthy! Clear eyes, clear nose, clean bum, everything! She was content to just sit in my hands! Once we got back home we out her in her cage and she was the most adorable little one ever, just staring at me for a while, then going off to explore her new home.
Her Taming Story:
I started off taming her very slowly, like I would with any hamster. She greatly accepted treats from my hand. On the third treat, she actually crawled up my hand, so I took her out for a short time. She was amazing! She just sat on my hand grooming herself like there was nothing happening. I put her back in her cage, but she immediately turned around and climbed up my hand again. Within a week, she would let me do anything. She was climbing all over me during Free Range time. Now, she is completely tame and has not even nibbled once! They must have treated her very well at the humane society!
