I'm a sucker
I can't resist an animal needing a home (especially a hamster!). At the vets today with the GP's, there was an ad for a cat and a hamster needing a home because the owners are moving down to England and they can't go too (yet they are taking their dogs!). I said to my Mum, and the vet heard me, and she says 'Oh great I'll get the number for you!' Now my Mum hadn't actually said a thing yet but I had a number in my hand...and well, I thought I'd phone.
So the hamster's name is Misty, and I assume a girl. I also assume its a Syrian like Jasper and William (but I wasn't actually told). She's between 12-18 months (apparently the owners couldn't remember when they got her
), probably at least halfway through her life, so I'm hoping she will have happy remaining days with me. The woman kept calling her 'it' through the phone call!
They are leaving on Sunday (they think), so the woman said she'd bring her over one evening before then, along with her cage and bedding.
I told my Mum, she gave me that look (why are parents so good at THAT look?!
). My Dad will probably go nuts. He still doesn't know about William I'm chuffed to bits though.
