Dry it gently with a towel. I don't know if the poor thing will make it because it could have internal injuries. I know it's stressed to the max! Give it plenty of bedding to nest in and a quiet place to try to recover. Make sure it has water and food available and just monitor it. Are you able to take it to a vet? Poor little hammy. :- Keep everyone away from it, it's probably terrified. How'd you see it?

I have dried it with a towel as best and least stressful i can. Annoyingly i can't fit a water bottle in the carry case that it's in, so shall i either use a little bottle cap/bowl or syringe feed it water? ive filled it with tissue and covered it with a towel (the case) It's almost 1am here and no one i live with drives so unfortunately no he/she seems to have perked up a little. There's no sign of outer injury.

I went to let the cat in and heard a terrible grumble squeaky noise and she ran off. I saw her come back and the hamster was on the floor and they were playing with it. So i quickly ran out and pushed the cats aside so i could get to it with a towel. Poor thing

It's likely to have some holes poked in it. Cats can be pretty brutal playing with the animals they catch. Mine used to torment mice. Can't tell you how many I rescued over the years.
Use a bowl for water for the hammy. Also if you have some cucumber cut a nice sized wedge. That will provide fluid for it over night. Fingers crossed that the cats didn't hurt it too much.

Maybe, The two that were tormenting it are growing out of kittenhood, so im not sure if they knew what to do with it. I have rescued to many birds and voles from my cats too! Thanks for your help i really hope they didn't

Let's see what happens overnight. You've done what you could for it.

OMW poor little thing! How does he/she look aside from the rough handling? Does it look like it's been outside roughing it for very long or does it look well-fed? Oh I do hope the poor thing pulls through x

Well done for rescuing him! What an amazing story! We've had cats in the past but they never caught a hamster and yours has and you are a hamster person! Maybe your cat was bringing you a present

Hope you can get him to a vet soon. Meanwhile lots and lots of comfy bedding as the others say.

Do you know anyone nearby who might have lost a hamster? Is it a Syrian?

Oo escaped hamster from somewhere, also a lucky little thing to have been bought to you. Really hope the cats haven't harmed it in any way, fingers crossed though.
