@BrainGirl, sorry to hear that you went through that with Salt. Albert is a bit of a mystery to be honest, with what it is. All I can think for now is that his owners much have known something was not right, and didn't want to keep looking after him any more.

I'm thinking that Albert is closer to three years old than two. Maybe just because of his life he looks older, but really, I think he is older, maybe he has had multiple owners and the past had him for two years.

TBH SinNyx, what I "went through" with Salt was a wonderful experience. Even though I only had him for about a month I think I grew closer to him than to any other hamster I've had. Just knowing how immensely short a time we likely had together made every moment extra precious!

I hope Albert's vet visit goes well and he has more time to spend with you x
