Well, there were only two black males who were treated, but Buster/Luna was fluffier and the dead give away was the back of the ears. Buster's fur behind his ear are about 2 to 3 shades lighter than the rest of his fur. The other hamster didn't have the lightness behind the ear, he was just a flat black. I spent a lot of time looking at Buster while he was sick and noticed the little things about him. And for having them all together I would understand why they did that. Since all the hamsters that got sick got sick at the same time they must have figured it was the same thing. It might have been harder to ID Buster if there had been more than 2 but, I was lucky in that aspect.
Lizzy, well since I only had Buster home for a couple of days before he got sick we couldn't really bond
and now he's back home sleeping in his (new 2 story cage!) and is having the time of his life. I don't know if he remembers me, so I'm ready to start the training process all over again and making sure I take things slow. Last night while he was running around exploring his cage, I kept talking to him and he would pause and look at me and come over and sniff my fingers. So hopefully all goes well from here on out!
