Candra Faulkner- I have actually noticed that she chews her bottle sometimes before drinking and it may be that nothing is coming out. I do check it every time after refilling it to see if it is ok but maybe it does stop for a bit. I have a similar sounding bottle to your but mine is from pets at home (also blue). Maybe it is just normal but she has never done so much pee before in her life. But if your little hammie is healthy, mine probably is too!! Since I took out the house she peed in, she seems to go in the corner of her cadge too!!! I do give her an occasional piece of cucumber but only a small bit because otherwise she just hoards it instead of eating it. Anyway, thanks for your help! Your little hamster sounds cute! X

Souffle - I actually did not think of that! Thank you! I must look really stupid for that!! Thanks for bringing me back so my senses!! I will keep the bowl clean and free of wood shavings (obviously) and I do give her a small bit of cucumber anyway! Thanks for the advice!! X

Thin Lizzie - my little hamster is called Ginny!! (After ginny weasley from Harry Potter!!) her fur is white and light brown and she has odd little tufts of longer hair!! What about yours? X

Maybe she needs a new bottle if it's not working. I'm sure she's okay

If she was peeing in a plastic house, and it was a puddle, it happens...
When it's on bedding it evaporates faster or gets absorbed, maybe that's why it
seemed like so much pee.

I just cleaned toby's cage... at 2:00 am here. lmao. I wasn't sleepy, and I get
to go back to work tomorrow and I thought " I'm going to be really tired tomorrow,
might as well do it now" ...
SO MUCH POO . I think it's all just on top, but nope, it's all up in his nest. ew. lol.
And pee as well. I wear vinyl gloves and just scoop it all out.

I always keep a couple of spare water bottles for my hammies just in case something happens!

You could be right candra Faulkner although itdid seem like an awfully large amount though as the house was quite big and filled up over halfway with pee. Did not smell great when I had to clean that!! I will look into getting her a new bottle. I don't like the thought of it not working when ginny needs it...
Cleaning out a poo filled cadge at 2 am is not on top of my list of fun things to do! Suppose it is better thank having to do it after work though. Maybe I should start doing that too!! Lol.

Btw thank you thin Lizzie, I do quite like her name too!! ��

Just a little update, I have bought my hamster a new drinking bottle a while ago and have been using a bowl of water. She is absolutely fine now, thanks again for all the help!

Archie's a chestnut brown/grey colour!
Twinkle's a honey/ginger colour.
Glad Ginny's well! Is she still preferring the bowl?
