Humbug the Christmas hamster
Hello, we are new here, I bought Humbug home yesterday. He is a long haired hamster, black and white with dark red eyes. He is settling in but I realise he needs a bigger cage so I'm arranging that. Not yet held him but have stroked him.

He is gorgeous but very lazy, even at 9 PM he is still sleeping. Is this normal?

Re: Humbug the Christmas hamster
Haha, hamsters wake up whenever they like. Puff (my hamster) ranges from sometimes waking up at 6pm till sometimes waking up at 9pm. She randomly wakes up in the day to!
I wouldn't worry about it, Puff is currently still asleep!

Re: Humbug the Christmas hamster
He's such a cutie! Wheels aren't for sleeping Humbug!!
9pm seems pretty normal to me, my last syrian was up at 7-8pm every day and my new little one isn't often up before 11 (until 9am some days, the maniac) so it's just their schedules. You can try feeding him earlier in the day to try and adjust him to an earlier routine, he should get the hint in a few days.
