Yes, but the Silent Spinner doesn't get it's name from nowhere, haha! Be repaired for a loud wheel.. I'd personally look into a Wodent Wheel or Trixie Rodent wheel!

Yes, comfort wheels are great, though they do have a reputation for being noisy

I've tried Vaseline on all wheels and it is not 100% effective, I wouldn't rely on oil :/

Even the Trixie I have isnt silent with Vaseline so I'd go for a quiet wheel plus oil

IVs heard the comfort wheels more rattle than squeak, so oil and Vaseline may not help. However, some find the noise nice it makes it easy to know your hams are exercising, in a dark room

I tried olive oil on Archie's last wheel and it worked for about 2 days. I think the makers of these toys forget how far and fast a hamster can do on the wheel.

Twinkle had the wheel at first but she went through 2 wheels in a few days!
At first they would rattle, then squeak and then they screeched - I got a fright when I heard the screeching noise cause I thought she'd hurt herself. Fortunately it was the wheel!
She's now a fan of the flying saucer.

As for hamsters liking the noise as comfort, try getting to sleep with it lol.

I've got several of those Comfort Wheels and I've found that the spindle, which is "X" shaped in cross-section, wears down at the edges and leaves a powdery residue behind. I take mine apart regularly and wipe off that dust and then cover the inner spindle with vaseline and don't have too much of a problem. You might need to weigh down the base of the stand though to help stop rattling. A medium bendy bridge laid flat across it is usually heavy enough or a piece of slate or tile.

I meant the owners, not the hamsters. Some find the white noise of a wheel soothing.
