Re: Pebbles isnt well :/
They definitely become more labor intensive when they start needing encouragment and assistance for feedings. I find that a ham who needs this kind of care needs so much more monitoring. I'm up and down, even at night, with senior hams. I find that anytime after 1 1/2 years old can be "old" for some hammies. 2 years old is what I aim for...anything after is just wonderful...3 is amazing. I haven't had any who got past 3, although I have heard of some who make it past that. But there are many hams who don't get to 2 years old, I think breeding may have a lot to do with this. Nature and Nurture. Even the best kept hammy cannot overcome genes.

Re: Pebbles isnt well :/
yeah, it just makes me sad that she relys on me to eat, and that if this was the wild, she probably wouldnt be here.
Im glad i can look after her, but its heartbreaking to see her like this, i think im gonna have to take out her climbing frame, and she loves that thing, shes always on it, but she just cant climb anymore x

Re: Pebbles isnt well :/
Sorry to hear she is bad. I have just read all the thread.
You are doing well feeding her. Is she having vitamin supplements as well. Does she have vitamin drops in her water. Fingers crossed for you both.
