Default Old man Hatton...

Hatton has got a lot worse over the past few weeks. I feel his time is coming to an end.

I got him out for a cuddle earlier but he wanted to go back so I just gave him a treat and let him be. I did a health check on him before putting him back, as I've noticed dried blood in his one ear, which I am monitoring.

I've added a picture of him when he was younger, and a picture of him from today.

Please note I did not hold him like that for long, was trying to get a picture of the blood for some advice, he was later wrapped up in my t-shirt having a lovely wild berry drop.

I'm sorry to hear your old boy may soon be going to hammie heaven. . Like you say you just have to make sure he is comfortable and I'm sure he knows you love him. I would probably get the ear seen to if it looks like it's coming from the inside of the ear just in case he may be in pain. X

Poor little old man. It's always so difficult to watch them age.

Hatton is still scurrying around, he has quite a few scabby looking areas and dry skin though, does anyone know of anything that can help with that as I don't want him to be in any pain with it? Looked at his nails and they are pretty fine and worn down but he keeps getting more of the scratches which usually have some dried blood. Never seen a hamster look so old, no idea how old he is but probsbly at least 3 or older.

Took a picture of him this evening after waking him up for a berry drop, not the best quality but I don't usually see him out and about enough in the day to get good pics!
