I just wanted to let every one know how proud
I am of my first litter born to my non standard silver cream satin and my long haired sable boy, they are 22 days now and will be put into their own separate groups on Monday,
There is silver creams and a sable and a silver sable in the litter so I didn't get a mink which I hoped for to develop my show lines but I have been blessed with a cream and a long haired satin cream so I am more than happy with that
,
Well they were mated on the 18th of June and my long haired male was a really gent, mating went very well and in the end I separated them as I felt sure my male would be tried
,
As soon as mating was over the female was given extra goodies in her diet to help with weight, milk flow and strength, She gave me 15 babies on the 4th of July born between 10am and 12pm. all was well. They developed well and my female was a grant mother supplying milk well into the last few days, She built massive nests so much so that at some times I believed the babies couldn't breath she built tunnels in and out of the nest and wouldn't let the babies out of the nest, so I took to sprinkling food into the nest for the little ones
.
for the last week they have been moved into a large cage out of the birthing nursery to give them extra room, they babies now spend their nights running on they wheel and climbing the bars, during the day the mother still cuddles them in to sleep, and soon they will have to leave me for new loving homes, and I will miss them but it will be such a joy to hand them over to new mams and dads
.
