My hamster escaped then returned

Hey all
Ok so I was at my dad's place the other weekend as my mum was away, I took Mudgey (my oldest boy hamster) with me as he is mine and I had to take care of him. Friday and Saturday day time he was fine but when I woke up Sunday to play with him and say good morning to him I had found that he had escaped. Now I searched everywhere but I could not find him. The Monday I went to my local pet store and bought Spider (weird name but he's cute) started to settle him down. Early hours of Thursday (midnight) my mum came into my room and told me that Mudgey had returned and asked me what I wanted to do about Spider. My main plan was to obviously keep Spider and have a second cage at home for Mudgey to live in. So yeah he turned up out of the blue at my dad's place.

Any Tips for if this happened again would be appreciated

How cute. Mudgey just didn't want to leave you ever. You'll just have to give mudgey more cuddles and ask him never to leave you and buy better cage so that he can not roam around again as next time he might not be lucky.
