Just a few of the babies I have kept from recent litters.
Rioja - LH Black-eyed Cream Satin.
Evander - LH Silver Grey.
Osiris - LH Pale-eared White - A Disney Ham really.
Rye - LH Cinnamon Banded Satin - just a temporary keeper really as he will be rehomed once he has fathered a litter as he does not really have a show standard band.
Asriel - LH Black Dominant Spot Banded.
Cleopatra - LH Gold Dominant Spot Banded Satin - another Disney Ham.
In order to justify keeping the last 3, all from the same litter, I made the decision to rehome their mum Jemima.
She was never a show hamster and although as she is only 7 months I could have bred her again I felt she would make a lovely pet.
I took her to Romsey where she was chosen by a delightfully dotty old dear who came to the show with her teenage grandson to find a hamster for herself. She bought Jemima a lovely new cage and came back to the tent several times during the afternoon to buy more treats and toys for her!
