So I've been hanging around Hamster Central posting pictures and everything, but I've actually never done a proper introduction on any of my Hamsters, so here you go.
So I've attached a picture of Elliot. He is my Medium/Longhaired Gingery Syrian. I have no idea what colouring he is but Gingery does me fine as I don't want to breed from him.
He is about 10 months old and was one of the older hamster at Pets At Home. He was the second hamster I had held and I was a bit scared about holding him as the first one I held bit me and my hand was bleeding like mental
But as soon as I had him in my hands his nose nuzzled up against it and he nibbled my fingernail and went back to sleep, he was mine. He was the last one in his cage and I felt sorry for him for not having any friends but now I know he was lucky not to be shoved in a small cage with six other Hamsters.
We took him home in his boxes (a smaller one inside a slightly larger one). On the trip home he gained the name hudini because he escaped from the smaller box and was trying to get out of the bigger one! This turned out to be a false trair as he is one of the laziest hamsters I have ever met.
When he go home he was put in a very small crittertrail cage but was soon updated to a mini dunna. About six months later he went into a medium sized bin cage and a few weeks after that he was put into an ikea four cubes explicit (can be seen in diy section) and that is now his home. Elliot was my first proper hamster and will make me continue to love and care for hamsters hopefully throughout the rest of my life. I Love You Elliot xxxxx
