Re: My gal Charlie
She is so cute!
She'll thank you for the bigger tank or bin cage too.
I'd also recommend getting a bigger wheel as it looks like she'll have to bend her back to run on that one which isn't good for the long term.
Looking forward to lots of photos!

Re: My gal Charlie
Well I called myself looking to make sure she didn't bend her back, because I did read about that. When she's in it, it doesn't look as though he back is bent. Maybe I can't tell though.
I do have a Stealth Wheel that I bought years ago when I was rehabbing a flying squirrel. He never got to use it and I wondered if she could use it because it is bigger than the one in her cage. Most people online say to use the Wodent Wheel, so I just wasn't sure she could use the Stealth Wheel.
Here is what it looks like:
Magnum Wheel (12-inch) - $42.95 : Critter Wheels, Tail-Safe, Quality Pet Exercise Wheels

Re: My gal Charlie
Not the best wheel to use because it says the running track is meshed which can result in hamster toes getting caught with horrible consequences A 12" solid wheel is what you need, they're often marketed towards rats although they are too small for them

Re: My gal Charlie
Ok...well that stinks!! I think I may as well sell that Stealth Wheel. I've had it for years & really have no use for it if she can't use it.
Well now I'm on the hunt for a new wheel for Charlie!! I think I may go for the Wodent Wheel

Re: My gal Charlie
I don't suppose you could line it with anything? I've no idea what, but if you can think of something that would work, or someone else can then that might be an idea?

Re: My gal Charlie
The little holes in the "net" thing are very small. I mean these wheels are made for Sugar Gliders & Flying Squirrels, both which have way smaller feet than Charlie.
I can try getting a close up to show how little it actually is.
Edit: I guess the difference is that the SG & FS actually grip their toes on things where maybe hammies don't......
