Default One last question about puffle..

as you know, i lost my little fluff a few days ago x However, i have no idea what happened :S He was so energetic in the last few months, wasnt slowing down or anything. He had his bald patch that i had taken him to the vets about twice but they didnt really know what it was, and he was skinny over the last week x I dont know what happened, he passed in his sleep, but i just dont know why.
I know its a grim question, and im sorry for asking, im just wondering if anyone knew what happened. I only had him 10, 11 months, and i dont know how old he was. He was fully grown when i got him though x

Maybe he was a lot older when you got him. A 1yr old hamster won't look much different to one who's 6 months. Their fur can start thinning and they will lose weight as they get older. I suppose on lh hammies you won't always notice weight loss just by looking at them.

As much as we don't want them to leave us, it sounds like it was his time to go. At least you know he'd had a good life and wasn't in pain x

With the weight loss and the thinning fur the two most common causes would be either heart failure or kidney failure. Basically these critical organs just got old, worn out and tired and gave in gazmo. You will never know the exact reason but it is normal to want to know. We always want a reason and we always try and blame ourselves with 'what ifs' and 'why didn't Is' but it is a waste of your emotional energy as it leads nowhere. It is best to accept that is how it is and remember the good times.
