Purdy is here!! WITH PHOTOS ADDED!

Thanks to NaomiR for collecting her for me...Purdy is now here!

We did a rescue hamster swap...a Chunky for a Purdy!

Now...she is quite boney, and I have just weighed her and she is 137g, which surprised me, as I would have guessed more like just over 100g.

Anyway...obviously, she will be dining on the finest cuisines with us, so she will soon build up, but my main concern is that she keeps scenting me.

Everytime I have been near her...either putting her in her travel box...or taking her out...etc...I have been bowled over by the smell! Yuck!

I haven't had any hams scenting me before, so don't really know what to make of it?

Is it cos she is scared, and isn't used to us yet (she is placid, and is fine with being handled) or do some hams just do this? In which case I may have to start searching Ebay for Gas Mask stockists!

I will post some new photos for you tomorrow...I wanted her to settle in tonight before her first photoshoot.

Some girlie hams just seem to do it Louby. Both my golden girls do it every time I pick them up......
I now have baby wipes at the ready.

Congratulations on your new addition. Do you have any idea how old she is?

it didn't smell, but Bunsey scented me all the time. i thought it was quite sweet "my mamma"

The lady I collected her from said she's been "calling" perhaps that's what she meant Louby???

We *think* Purdy is about 14 months old but (as with most rescues) we'll probably never know for sure

I'm just glad she's in safe hands now.......can't wait to see pictures of her
