Default Introducing Bowser and Daisy

Here are some piccies of my two syrians:

Bowser

and Daisy

Theyare both Petshop Hamsters. Bowser is just over a year old and was bought for us as a birthday present for my son. Daisy (I was told) is less than a year old. We have only had her a week since I gave in and collected her from the PAH adoption centre. She is coming on well - has stopped screaming and happy to come out in her ball or wander round my lap, but still panics if you actually try to pick her up.

Could anyone let me know what colours they are? would be nice to know if they are something other than browny-grey and orange-and-white

You know they are both lovely - but I am not sure on Bowsers colour - I assume a golden, but very very light... or is it my computer - Ill have another look later..

Now Daisy - I can tell you straight off - and that it is one of my top favourite colours - she is a red eyed cream banded. I think she is probably carrying long hair too, as she seems fluffy and appears to have a couple of tufts of longer hair?

they both look very tame - I look at Daisy's face and can't imagine she would scream at anyone - she looks too much of a lady!

Thanks Spud's mum. Yes, she does have couple of tufty bits. It's a relief if she is a longhair as I was a bit worried that Bowser was unhealthy as his coat wasn't as fluffy!

If it helps on his colour, as a baby I always described him as grey, but as he got older he became more gingery with it.

Bowser obviously has a real mixture of genes there but basically he is a shorthaired silver sepia.
Daisy is a longhaired red eyed cream banded. She still has very much a baby look about her so I would say she is quite a bit under a year old. She is a very pretty little girl, I do love bandeds.

Really?! Don't give me ideas! Hmmm, will have to get her properly tame first though. Not bad for a hamster I agreed to take without even seeing!

I'm assuming I shouldn't give her a sand bath if she is longhair and will need to brush her won't I?

a sand bath will be fine. Female's hair doesn't get anything more than kinda fluffy. it won't be long enough to need brushing. i find it makes them greasey, so i only brush if there's tangles.
