Default Wee Harry

http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc26 ... /Harry.jpg

Here is a picture of Harry. I think he is now just gotten over his bug thing he had and is eatingme out of house and home now which is great
I was wondering is he golden (banded?)or cinnamon his fur seems to have gone lighter in colour lately. His two brothers were that ginger (cinnamon )? colour and short hair. The other one was white with a sort of marbeled cream colour on his back what colour is that? (wish i got him too) he was unusual.
Sorry to sound silly but im interested in all the coulours and learnign slowly .

WOW! He is so cute and fuzzy Glad to hear that he is feeling better now I'm afraid I'm quite new to hamsters so I'm not experienced enough to say what colour he is, but he is extremely handsome

wow what a wonderful little ball of fluffl Lolo! Harry certainly looks fine and healthy now, glad he got over his little bug.

harry is a lovely long haired banded golden hamster, as his hair grows longer the colour does get lighter as the colour is 'spread out' over the length of the hair

It sounds as though the 'marbled creamy' hamster could have possibly been a cream roan, or a cream/cinnamon dominant spot. was he a bit like Theodore's Sir Dandelion? http://www.hamstercentral.com/forum/vie ... php?t=3692

Its really hard to say just from descriptions sometimes, and even when there are photos I sometimes get confused!

anyway, he is marvellous, and reminds me of my own long haired golden babies, that have just gone to new homes!

yes he is quite fluffy now when i first got him he just had a fluuf bum and two spikes stickingout his side. its his eyes that did it for me when i was choosing him.
Yes sm thats the colours of harry s` brother -Theodores sir dandelion is rather adorable i seemed to miss his post.
And when i saw the pics of your babies i did think harry was very similar - they are all beautiful by the way !!!! does the mum miss the babies for a while? But ive yet to see a hamster that is not . (beautiful) so hes ok for a petshop hamster?

awww Lolo - of course he's alright - he;s gorgeous - all hamsters are, I think - no matter whether pet shop or breeder hams. The only difference is that with hamsters bred for showing breeders try to get them as close to a written 'standard' for their colour, size, shape of face etc.

But if all hamsters were absolutely like the standards, they would all look the same, and where would the fun be in that?

Harry is a beautiful hamster indeed, he may never win best in show in a hamster show, but not many hamsters do get anywhere near that, and it doesn't matter to them, they know they are beautiful cause their loving owners tell them all the time!

Oh forgot to say, the Mums dont seem to miss their babies very much to be honest - once the babies get to a certain age, Mum thinks she has done her bit and wants her own space back again!
