No petshops around here will take in any whites, especially flesh eared whites with their insane pinky eyes. They just dont sell, no one wants them.

I have to say though... I like BEWs and DEWs but I dont like anything albino/FEW which is albino in colouration anyway.

I've always liked red/pink eyed animals - partly I think because so many people don't like them, bless them - as a teenager I always chose the red eyed white rabbits and one of my whites is probably the loveliest natured rabbit I ever had.

Saw my first Ivory at Thame on Monday - absolutely stunning!

I love how black eyed whites and ivories look - especially gorgeous longhaired ones like Alfie!

I don't have any problem with red-eyed animals (3/4 of my hamsters are red-eyed), but for some reason I am just not keen on red-eyed white animals - I really don't know why though!

Long haired black eyed whites sell OK but the short haired are not so popular - all sell better than red eyed ones though.

I had heard that some people don't like red eyed whites, but didn't realise just how many! I personally love red eyed white rabbits, I had a Netherland when I was younger, chose him over a fawn one and my friend couldn't believe it. He was adorable.I don't care much for red eyed white guinea pigs, but don't mind the hamsters! There is a rew hamster in the shop where I got Chowder from..............he/she is still there
May have to nip over there this weekend to see if someone has taken him home.....................
I had an eyeless white as a teenager. My sisters hamster produced babies shortly after purchasing her from the pet shop!! The mum was a dark eyed white, must have been caught by her mis sexed brother? Anyhow two babies had no eyes, one sadly died after a week or so and the other one I kept. He was so tame and did pretty much everything a normal hamster would do.He die'd suddenly at around 2 1/2 years old I do wonder exactly what it is that people don't like about the red against the white? Other colours with red eye's still seem popular.Black dogs and cats have a similar problem, they're often overlooked in favour of lighter ( even white ) animals!

One of my previous hamsters was ruby-eyed, but a dark fawn/brown banded. He was beautiful. People used to call him 'the demon-eyed hamster.' Snowy is beautiful, too. One of my rats is pink-eyed.

I didnt realise just how many people dont like white coloured animals with red eyes I thought it was just a few. i feel sorry for them really its like sterotyping when people say 'they bite more' or 'theyre blind' or 'they're really agressive.'
