Oh what a sweetie! SO lovely. I think you will have him eating out of your hand within a short time (figuratively as I can see he already does this literally!). You and Aly seem to have already found a place for him in your hearts (bless you both).

I am glad he is settling in with you, I am sure he will enjoy his new Gabber when it arrives!

Aw bless him, he's lovely!

Am glad he's safe and sound, and I'm sure he'll like his Gabber too. Welcome to the forum Mick!

does he have bluey-grey fur at the roots, Gus, and dark pink eyes
Yes, and yes - though his eyes are so very dark, it's almost as if they have a pink lustre, rather than any real colouring.

He's not a rex, however - his whiskers are very much straight; so he just has a wonderfully wavy coat! He's so amazingly soft to the touch!

And, of course, I'd know what he's like to the touch - as he's now quite happy to be stroked! Spent about an hour playing with him this evening - and I think he was more in danger of wearing me out than himself!

He's happy to clamber onto me, to get out of his cage - and he's more than happy to take treats from us. Ball-time is now a definite favourite!

And as for climbing... well, I think he could give Desi a run for his money

His Gabber is arriving tomorrow - so we're shopping for climbing toys on pay day.

All I'm going to say is 'wow' - what a wonderful little fellow we're discovering here!

He does sound like a banded cinnamon then!

It is so great that he is settling in so nicely, and it seems that he likes coming coming out to play with you as well (especially with all those yoghurt drops ).

I look forward to recieving more updates and pictures of this lovely little chappy.

A quick update, after only three days.

Harry's Gabber is now here - I missed the courier yesterday, unfortunately, but it arrived this morning. So he now has a whole host of things to look forward to - a new cage, Wodent Wheel (his former owner was using a rat wheel), climbing frame, swing bridge...

... I think tonight is going to be very exciting for little Harry, who I don't think has ever had so many toys

He's dramatically improved, in temperament. He has the occasional moment, when his nerves show through. However, he is now willing to be picked-up and stroked.

Normally, we sit on the couch and let him have a scrabble around us - which he enjoys; it gets him used to us, to having us handle him.

Day three, but I think we've cracked this one - he's not bitten anyone yet!

Oh, yes - he has his human servants well-trained!

How well-trained? Well, about this much...

It's all well-appreciated, mind

Ooh, and he kindly volunteered to show off his new-found social skills - quite an improvement, you'd say!

In fact, he's become a real cuddle-hamster!:
