Thanks I just got a syrian and will be getting my guinea pigs soon so wont be getting another cutie till I am used to the others

Oh he is beautiful!!!
It took one of my hamsters about half an hour to settle in and another about three days. Also right when my newer one got in her cage the first time she went to the food dish and started eating. It took her a few days to discover all the stuff in her new home. I was concerned she didn't know where the water was but I heard her drinking. My first hamster settled in really well, got used to her cage, and on the first day she was running on the wheel.
So, I really think it depends on the hamster. Don't worry he'll settle in eventually.

He is just about settled, but he is literally always asleep in the tubing between his cages. Said tubing stinks of pee now but everytime I am with him he is in there! but he is beautiful and goes mad for carrot!
