Catching a cold?

Hiya, am I right in thinking hamsters can catch a cold? I'm a bit sniffly at the moment and just wondering if Ralph may catch it?

They can yes, I'd try to keep handling to a minimum and if you do be sure to wash hands thoroughly and try not to breathe over him too much.

I have a Chinese so not relevant on the species-front, but recently I've caught cold twice and had to keep away from my little Charlie so he didn't catch the cold off me. Hardest thing ever!

Yes they can. I've also heard that it can develop into pneunomia which they'll never get rid of but I'm not sure whether it's true or not.

You're right Flix it's so hard to keep away. My colds gone now but I stayed away from Ralph and let my boyfriend look after him for a few days
