Well, it's sable for me but I have history - I used to breed siamese sable dwarf rabbits and the sable hamster is a similar colour. I also love their little eye-specs.

Ok ~Stephen - you really like getting me into trouble with my boys and girls don't you?
Actually, from your list I only have 2 black eyed cream and I red eyed cream. I have a sable, but she is a LH sable roan so is grey sprinkled with white (or vice cersa )
My other self coloured hamsters are minks (Spud is my mink boy and we also have his daughter Chip) and so I have to qualify my vote and say that my favourite self colour is mink. It is a lovely orangey brown with red eyes and pale brown/flesh ears. It is produced by the cream, cinammon and umbrous genes so is basically an umbrous red eyed cream. It is a really warm rich colour that deepens with age!
OOOh don't I go on? but here is my gorgeous Spud

i went for black-eyed cream, but i'm thinking of the lovely rich apricot creams from breeders, rather than the white-ish creams from shops. i also adore blacks.

Minks and Doves are "selfs" - a self colour is any one that looks the same colour all over (apart from white patches on chins, tummies or feet). The other colour types is agouti which has different coloured flashes, crescents, tummies etc - as in Goldens, Greys etc. In these colours the individual hairs actually have different colours in them too.

I can't decide again - will have a think!

I actually rather like the paler creams Bunsey for soft vanilla cream seems more like a 'cream' to me than the deep almost cinnamon that some creams are. I love them all though!

I've only ever had 1 self colour - Benji from babyboos. He was such a great little guy:

Sadly he passed at 8 months old from a tumour in April

So BECs have to be my favourite self - especially long haired.

Awww what a lovely picture.

I adore selfs, minks, doves, copper, sable, cream, black I love them all. They put the fancy in hamster fancy for me

Agouti colours, although most would never be seen on a native Syrian are nice but selfs in my opinion are nicer. I have friends however who adore Cinnamon, and the greys are also very popular.

I get more requests for selfs than aguoti overall.
