All the colours of the rainbow......
What colour Syrians do you have, or have you had? Which colours do you prefer?
My favourite hams (on the prettiness scale) have all been banded - Rosie a black-eyed cream banded, Mitzi a cinnamon banded, and the most recent the short-lived Bella, who was a kinda chocolate/lilac banded. She was incredibly pretty. I'm not sure exactly as she was a pet shop ham. There's been quite a few cinnamon bandeds, I tend to think of that as "normal" now!
I really love the cinnamon and honey colours, also the really good creams that are really peachy/yellowy. I like the sound of yellow too but all the pictures I've seen have been a quite dirty yellow colour, not as attractive as I think "yellow" should be. I also think lilac is gorgeous.
I'm looking forward to going to the Highworth show next weekend to hopefully see good examples of lots of different varieties.

These are probably the prettiest hams that I have had.. But then.. They are the only two since my first one as a child (RIP Butters and Hammy)
Butters I think was a sable.. She had the cutest face a big ears and bright eyes, you can see her in my Logo on the Hamster Central website
And then Hammy, he was a male but looked like a princess, I dont know if the image quality stands up but he was literally more blonde then a yellow inky color :P Long haired, he was my first longed haired.. Died 6 days after he came home with me
I have seen some truly pretty hamsters while skimming over web sites and peoples personal photos though. So many varieties to choose from..
I wonder what my next one will look like..
Aww Now Im sad.. my hammies died

I think Hammy was a black-eyed cream banded. Very pretty - longhaired + cream does look quite feminine doesn't it!
I still get sad missing Mitz and I lost her at the beginning of December. Special hams always keep a place in your heart.

I really like the Lilac although it seems to have a more silver or metallic sheen to its fur.. arent Lilacs purple :P
You need to find a fancy breeder for these types Im sure... Yikes.. The Black one looks like hes about to eat a poison mushroom.. who put that there!!!

Lol. "Lilacs" in animal colour terms tends to be kinda almost-lilacy silver. It would be so cool though if an actual purple gene showed up though!
I've never seen a blue mink, sounds very interesting though. I wonder if itd be a similar colour to blue BSH cats - they really are a bluey grey. I don't know how common they are (blue mink hamsters) though, the colour is a combination of about 5 recessive genes so must be incredibly difficult to breed.

These are my current hamsters. I will share pictures of the hamsters I have had in the past. I've only ever had Syrian Hamsters as pets incidently.
Hazel and Clara.

I currently have the following:
George, Black eyed cream
Charlie - Banded cream
Missy - Honey banded
Rosie - Rust
My favourite colour is a banded golden, preferably long haired. I've also had black eyed white, banded sables and sables.
