To have in the cage or not?
So I'm buying all the toys to go in the cage for when I get my hamster but wanted to know is there any point in having a sand bath? I've read on here that Syrian hamsters don't really use them to play in. Do you think I should get one or not?

Re: To have in the cage or not?
all 3 of my girls have had a sandbath and have enjoyed them in varying degrees -
Mo loved to dig in it to start with, then just used it as a potty and foodstore
Daisy did the same, but didnt like it when I took it out
Darcey currently really enjoyes hers - she rolls in it, digs in it, wees in it, poos in it...even sometimes sleeps in it!
IMO it is a useful addition and enjoyed in a variety of ways!

It's your call really, they don't really need one but they do like to dig in it

Re: To have in the cage or not?
Thanks everyone for your help I think I will get one! Just didn't want to spend money on getting one when my hamster won't use it. Which might still happen but hopefully he or she will enjoy digging in it.
