Re: To have in the cage or not?
Treacle loves to dig in hers but my previous syrian used to roll in her sand bath

Re: To have in the cage or not?
Phoebe digs in hers and uses it to do all her wees in! At least it keeps them all in one place so spot cleaning is a doddle!

Spend? Money???
Ok, a little I guess but I just use a tub from poundland and 15Kg playsand from Agros.. Total cost is about £4, and thats enough to last a couple of months.

Re: To have in the cage or not?
I bought some playsand over the weekend, it's 15kg for £2.99 from Argos or £3 for 1.5kg of Charlie Chinchilla sand from the pet shop!

Re: To have in the cage or not?
I wasn't sure how Suggs would react, so I bought this cute bath (because I got paid that day and couldn't resist it!) and just a small pack of chinchilla sand to try out. She's gone crazy for it, rolling around, digging it out and scooping it back in..... and eventually falling asleep in it. No poop or pee either, which I thought she might 'add'!

Re: To have in the cage or not?
Aww she seems to like it then! I'm glad. She might keep it clean for the first wee while, but the temptation to use it as a loo will probably come eventually - I think it's much like humans in pools. We don't intend to use them as toilets.... :/

If I was ever tempted to pee in the pool, I was always too scared to - someone once told me they put a chemical in the water that turns bright blue if anyone 'goes'.

Re: To have in the cage or not?
We had the great phrase "There's no 'P' in our 'ool" on the wall before you went into the pool when I was little and I thought that was so clever that I always listened to it. Although when sailing you're actively encouraged to go in the sea - too much effort to take your wetsuit off! Helps warm up your wetsuit too! Haha (sorry I seem to have lowered the tone of this thread... )
