Default Two syrians together

*WARNING - THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL SITUATION AND IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO KEEP TWO SYRIANS TOGETHER*
Ok, so here's the thing!
Me and my boyfriend bought two long-haired syrian brothers some time ago. When we bought them we asked the owner if we could keep them together for a while since they were still young, and she said for a week or two.
We know how syrians work and how they're solitary animals, so we figured we'd soon see when we had to seperate them.

In the beginning we noticed they were chasing each other and semi-fighting, but when we removed the houses and all hidey places from the cage, they seemed to get along.
The bros were born on October 15th and now our little friends are almost three months old, and they're still awesome buddies. They sleep (as I'm writing this they're sleeping together like two mogwais) and eat together and they seem to enjoy each other's company a lot. They're even better friends now than they were when they were younger. Very rarely they'll chase each other and smell each other's butts so we seperate them, but that's pretty much it.
I also e-mailed the owner a while back and she said they sexually mature at 4 weeks and that they would fight if we kept them together.

Any clue what's up? Are they so stimulated by their surroundings that they can tolerate each other?
We have two cages and they're connected by a plastic tube we built ourselves. In one cage they hang out and eat and sleep, and in the smaller one they run in their wheels.
