I see, well it's good your hamster seems used to you. Just watch its body language... If the hamster runs from your when you go to pick it up then it probably doesnt want to be handled. Try your best not to startle it while it cleaning or eating, you might first want to try softly calling and rustling the bedding a bit to gets its attention, and wait for the hamster to come to you.
My first hamster I had was a wonderful hamster, she never once bit me, expect for this one time, I wanted to handle her but she was asleep in her house and I made the mistake of touching her, she turned around and bit me good and hard, but it was my fault and I knew it was. The best you can do it learn from your experience!
Hamsters are small and delicate creatures! I cant blame them for being jumpy like that, after all pretty much anything could be considered a predator to them.
