Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
I got a kiddies pop up ball pit for £6 from Sainsbury's. It folds up flat and i shove it under an armchair when not in use.
Our hamsters share free roaming areas and toys. Yes, they scent mark the skirting boards and large toys but there's no harm in that. It just gives them more to sniff.

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
Good point. I think with Pip being so nervy I would use different toys. I guess I could wipe the wood on the playpen insides and put the playpen on a different bit of carpet. Main issue is that Raffy is out every night! So it needs a second one to ever get Pip out until Raffy is tame enough not to need the playpen.
Ballpit is a good idea if the sides aren't too high (partly for me and partly so it's not like an arm from above). Which one do you have?

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
I guess I could just use the bath for Pip actually.

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
I had one of those solid plastic ones and got it for free from a neighbour. It was too awkward to store so gave it to a toddler.

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
Yes I think storage could be an issue. I'll probably just use the bath for now - maybe with a taming box (low sided storage box) inside the bath. On the other hand the playpen is nice for them to run around in. I don't really have space to set up two playpens at the same time though! And Raffy is out a lot every night. But the bath could be a start. If I can get Raffy hand tame he can start going on the sofa or free roaming a bit, then Pip can have the playpen.

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
Bath tub makes sense and worth a try.
Robos are so hard to catch. I was doing fine with Scottie when he was in the small tank and he seemed to enjoy running around in the playground.
Like Pip, he comes to the front of his HH now and jumps up full of bravado, "look at me, i'm a brave Robo". Soon as i open the door it's like " whaaat, she opened the door, i'm off".
To be able to catch him, i'd need to remove the tubes but can't do that because he loves sitting in there.
