Default Can I glue moss to the bark house? Or get a new one?

Hello everyone. I bought a bark house from chewy (full name: Ware Critter Timbers Bark Small Animal Bungalow, Medium) for my Syrian hamster but I just read that bark furniture is not good for hamster. From what I understand is that furniture made of bark has rough surface and many have glue/nail that can harm hamsters. This house doesn't have any nail and I glued it myself using my own Elmer glue. I'm considering gluing moss to the surface to avoid hurting my hamster. He's not really affected yet, just came back from vet all healthy and nice. I like the house because it's a good size, sturdy, big entrance and window. But I'm also willing to get a new one with other safe wood off Amazon. Do you think I can just glue moss? Or should I just buy a new smooth one? Thanks!

i have a similar one for my syrian hammy Bandit Boi, my one has a flat bark roof and he's had no issue with it you can probably find my one by googling trixie flat roof corner hamster house. i tried attaching a picture but it wouldnt show for some reason lmao
from what i read having different rough textures in a hamster cage is great because it helps them keep their nails nice and short without you and your hammy having to stress about trimming them i dont think you have to worry about adding moss to the roof tho i think your hammy would enjoy the moss (assuming its clean and bug free) you could just add it in the cage somewhere for your lil guy to investigate but personally i'd leave the roof the way it is

another thing to think about is your hammy would probably try to rip the moss off the roof once its been glued anyway to try use it as nesting material so it would be better to just leave it loose in the cage rather than covering it in glue

Ah thank you for your insight! Good thing I haven't glued the moss to anything yet. I didn't know hamsters would also use it for nesting! It's just the chambers and houses I saw on the internet are not as thick and sturdy like the bark houses. And somehow it's pretty hard to find one with big enough entrance for a Syrian. I considered the ones for Guinea pigs but they have gaps and holes, I guess for air ventilation because they are not on top of beddings. Other forums are pretty against using the bark house so I guess I will just DIY one with white woods
