I found these in my hamster's cage...HELP
My poor dwarf hamster Fae is dealing with another bug infestation, which is being treated as mites with Revolution.
However, I can't help but think that these are not mites. They are way bigger than the photos of mites I find online and they have actual legs like an insect. I can't for the life of me figure out what they are. Has anyone seen these before??
I found them crawling under her water dish and little mushroom hide. She was displaying excessive scratching so I assume they bother her.
I posted in a facebook group but got no replies. Any thoughts are very welcome!

Those look like grain weevils / flour beetles type of insect. They wont harm your hamster as they don't bite animals but they will be feeding on her food. Have you checked your food bags / boxes. That's where they usually come from and they can spread to your own food cupboards. If they are in the food then freeze that in sealed bags or several days. If found in unopened bags report to the manufacturers. Clean our everything and dispose of it. Vac your floors and check bedding and cracks in wood houses. I'd either get rid or bake those. Use plastic or cardboard which can be thrown own till you are clear. Wheat weevil - Wikipedia

Thanks for your reply!
I ended up showing some specimens of the insects to the vet and she immediately identified them as lice. Apparently hamsters don't get lice often so there isn't much written about it. Treating with 6 doses of Revolution over 3 months
