scented Candles, Essential Oils etc??
Hi all,
I'm just wondering where you guys all stand on using candles, essential oils etc?
My hamster is in a separate room to me and I would like to use candles etc
Would this effect hamsters health? Does it effect hammies if the scent is on your clothes?

Re: scented Candles, Essential Oils etc??
I remember reading something about scented candles and oils. that it wasn't very good for the animal if it was in the same room. Something about their scent being sharper/stronger than the average human and that it could irritate them.
But since your hamster is housed in another room, I think it can't really harm him? Unless it's really strong, but I doubt anyone would find that pleasant!

Re: scented Candles, Essential Oils etc??
I am very sensitive to them- they smell overly strong to me - so a hamster would probably find that as they have such a sensitive strong sense of smell. Personally I wouldn't use them - if you did have the aroma as well it might be difficult.
