I would use the same rules we have for our hamsters, we can wait until chick opens eyes.

Ooooohhhh a chick! A chick! I can’t wait for photos I wouldn’t think the same rule would apply here, because that rule is in place to prevent pups and their mum being disturbed and potentially harmed. It doesn’t sound as though you disturbed them at all. But, it might be worth checking with a moderator first.
