My Ratties!!
Hi everyone! I got a trio of male ratties on Wednesday they are about 8 weeks old and I got them from a breeder. Without further ado I would like to formally introduce Leo (champagne hooded), Milo (agouti hooded) and Monty (agouti)!

Re: My Ratties!!
Abi5sos1d, congrats on your three new rat babies! They are definitely all so very precious and look quite inquisitive. I am happy for all four of you. I look forward to hearing about all of their many adventures; I'm sure they will keep you on your toes. How absolutely CUTE! I love rats and was at one time contemplating on getting one. They seem to have such an inquisitive and hilarious personality!

Re: My Ratties!!
Thanks everyone for the lovely comments! They have already made my life a lot more cheerful and never fail to make me giggle everyday with their antics! Leo is very friendly and doesn't mind being held he's cuddled upto me a couple of times but the other two are still skittish and are a bit shy to take treats from me, but yesterday I put a small pile of dried mealworms on my hands and they all took some.I noticed Milo was really hesitant and Monty grazed his teeth on me a couple of times as he was snatching them pretty quick.
Any ideas on how to warm them up to me?

Re: My Ratties!!
I think it's just going to take time for them to warm up to you. They are likely still nervous as they're not used to your home, but with time they'll see it as their home as well and will be much more confident. Spending as much time with them as possible will help speed the process up as well. Keep giving them treats and make sure to take things as slow as they need to be comfortable. Good luck

Alright I have been trying to get them out to play but it's hard when they don't want to be held so I have tried to put their carry case at the door of their cage but they won't go into it, and I don't know how I'll clean them out next week for their first clean if I can't get them out and I don't want to do anything that they are uncomfortable with

Why not try training them to go in the case? You can place some treats in there and every time they go into it, reward them with more treats. It will take repetition for them to understand, but rats are very intelligent so they'll catch on quickly
