Yeah, they're so sweet I love them so much already aha. I've just been noticing that Leo has been producing really soft and really pungent smelling poo, is that normal?

Sometimes this will happen when a rat is upset, stressed, or their stomach is bothering them. As long as he's overall healthy, then I wouldn't worry over it!

Oh this usually happens when I get him out, should I stop doing it if it's bothering him?

Try giving him a few days rest and then start up slowly again. This will allow you to see if handling him is the issue or if it's something else. During this period of Rest, why not just spend time near his cage so he gets to know you better? Hope he settles more soon

It's just he usually climbs on my hand so I thought it was okay? However I will leave him for a few days as you suggested.

It's definitely good to hear he's climbing about on you I'd say if after a day of not handling, the problem hasn't resolved, then it may be time to look into any dietary things that could be causing it.

Well they're on science selective pellets and Jr farm rat food and I give them fresh foods too, like today they had some banana and they had blueberries and carrots the other day. I also give them dried bugs like crickets, mealworms and shrimp. They have markies and greenies to chew on in their cage too.

It's generally agreed that vit drops in water/foods aren't necessary (unless of course a vet or experienced breeder recommended otherwise) to have if you're feeding a good healthy diet. Rats get most vitamins from their food as well as fresh fruits and vegetables so they would do just fine without it. As for the diet they're on currently, I unfortunately can't help any further! I love rats and research quite a bit, but overall I only have a general dietary knowledge. As long as their protein isn't too high and they have both a seed and lab block diet as well as fresh fruits and veggies, they should be just fine on that diet
